Tattling vs. Reporting: Getting Higher Up on Blooms

In my elementary classes this past month we're discussing the difference between tattling vs. reporting. There are a lot of lessons on the topic. When finding what I could (with the use of Pinterest and TpT), I purposefully wanted to get higher on the Blooms Taxonomy ladder. Many of the activities that I found (and used) were sorting and hit the understanding or comprehension level of Blooms.  Once I knew students understood the difference, I wanted them get a deeper understanding of the difference.
I started my lesson in a whole group. We reviewed what the difference between tattling vs. reporting was and then we sorted cards as a group. The cards I used for my lesson were a freebie from First Grade Fairytales. While we sorted each card, we discussed why each card was placed in each pile and different situations that may make some a tattle or a report.
After our review and whole group practice, I had students work independently on my practice page. I have already sorted situations into the Tattle or Report columns and have students look for what doesn't belong and justify their reasons below. It was good for students to communicate their thinking to me. I also made more than one right answer.
You can get my freebie of Tattle vs. Report using justification at my TpT store.
